TRANSFORMERS

A witty story of robots in disguise and the mass destruction they cause.

The most anticipated movie of the summer is no let down. Everyone I know has enjoyed Transformers. Many have seen it more than once. I found it to be a well-crafted showcase of the genre. The in-your-face-action-with-a-serving-of-witty-humor genre. The cast is fun and fresh. Both attractive and slightly known people that can also act, make for a refreshing film. The special effects were exciting and the camera work phenomenal. And with a score that is just as rocking as it is epic, Transformers delivers a great movie going experience.

Even though I grew up in the Transformers generation, I was not as familiar with the story and characters as I wish I were. So after seeing the new film I watched the old animated film from 1986. Just as much action but mostly taking place in space. I watched it with a die-hard fan that explained everything to me. So now I want to see the Michael Bay film again and I think I could appreciate it even more. Nonetheless, this should not discourage anyone from seeing Transformers. Just go in with an open imagination.

Shia LaBeouf is really a great actor. I know everyone is talking about him now, but he deserves it. He is the center of this film and does a great job carrying it from start to finish. He provides comedic relief to the onslaught of incredible action sequences (of which he also takes part). His supporting cast is strong as well and not too cheesy like many of this genre.

The camera work and special effects make Transformers so fun to watch. It is a perfect summer film and won’t disappoint. The action is explosive and the characters witty.
